Buckler Sorrel edible leaves are best suited for raw culinary preparations as its petite size and delicate structure cannot withstand high heat. The leaves are commonly used as a fresh edible garnish and can be used to place a top of soups, stews, noodle, pasta and fish dishes. In addition, layer in sandwiches for a unique twist on salad greens, or place on top of desserts such as ice cream and dark chocolate. The citrus flavours from Buckler Sorrel leaves pair well with meats such as veal, poultry, fish, shrimp, scallops and crab. They also complement flavours such as celery, cucumber, rhubarb, apple, elderflower and strawberries. Great for a natural bed for fresh fruit plates and platters. The leaves can also be used to garnish desserts and to add a tangy twist to mixed green fresh salads.
